Trent University senior management, led by Dr. Leo Groarke, president and vice-chancellor of the University on an explorative visit to CAVS. They meet the college Principal.Prof.Kiama and the college management.

During the meeting the two teams to discussed areas the institutions can work together. The principal while giving an overview of the college and University of Nairobi at large emphasized how these collaborations position the college as the center of excellence in Agriculture and environment studies.

Trent University is recognized nationally in Canada for leadership in teaching, research and student satisfaction. Trent University on the other hand has been working with India and China and is keen to broaden these collaborations by enrolling African students to study in the university. Some of the areas identified to have the potential collaboration in these initial discussions are joint experimental learning and Wildlife studies. The team later toured the newly constructed Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental studies and were very impressed with the kind of work that has been done.
