Delegates from University of Chile in a meeting with Prof. Charles Mulei, the Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Science (CAVS) hosted delegates from University of Chile. Headed by Prof. Santiago Urcelay Vicente- Dean Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences from University of Chile, the visiting team met with College Principal and the Veterinary Medicine Faculty Dean. Among others, they discussed and explored more research, partnership and collaboration opportunities in the field of Agriculture, Animal and Veterinary Sciences
Prof. Santiago Urcelay acknowledged the University’s excellent position as a center of research and academic excellence and was optimistic that, together, the two institutions will improve and strengthen the sector of agriculture and animal science.
His sentiments were supported by Prof. Stephen Kiama, the Principal- CAVS. He further added that the College is willing to support any initiative that will be geared towards adding value to research excellence and experiential learning to the students.
University of Chile is recognized as one of the best Universities in Chile and Latin America in the field Animal and Agriculture Sciences; an aspect that it shares largely with The University of Nairobi. Also, both of them are listed as top notch universities in their respective regions and globally.
Also present during the meeting was a representative from the Embassy of Brazil in Kenya.
