Prof. Kiama giving a speech to the freshmen during the orientation event
First year students from College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS) were profoundly welcomed to the University of Nairobi in the opening session of the Freshmen orientation exercise that took place at 8.4.4 Lecture hall. The event was meant to prepare them for the extensive and exciting academic expedition, initiate them into the intellectual field and give them an opportunity to meet and mingle with great minds in academia.
Speaking during the occasion, the College Principal, Prof. Kiama, congratulated them for their sterling performance at KCSE and commended them for being selected by Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) to join the University of Nairobi. He also advised them to focus greatly on their academics and avoid engaging in activities that are not in harmony with the objectives, vision and mission of the University.
Being a world-class University, the University of Nairobi places great premium to such events because they entrench its commitment to scholarly excellence.
