The principal, CAVS and Dean FoA received guests from World Vision Australia (WVA) – Cristine Lindel and Nick Ralph who were accompanied by Dr. Oscar Koech from the Department of LARMAT and Stella Wekesa from world Vision Somalia. World Vision Somalia has been in a collaborative research and outreach with UoN and IGAD Sheikh Technical Veterinary School (ISTVS) in Somaliland. World vision Australia (WVA) has been supporting WV Somalia in many programs in Africa.

The visiting team was on a mission to document and make a follow up of flagship projects in Africa, where Frankincense multiplication using tissue culture technology spearheaded by Dr. Oscar Koech of the University of Nairobi, was among the projects of interest by WVA.   The purpose of the visit was to get a briefing on progress, plans for the second phase and to discuss further ways to strengthen the collaboration and partnership between UoN, ISTVS and WVA.

This project has been renewed for the second phase that will benefit CAVS and ISTVS in collaborative research support on tissue culture facilities establishment and strengthen capacity development and outreach between UoN in Kenya and ISTVS in Somaliland to benefit the region
