CAVS, through Seed Enterprise Management Institute (SEMIS), is organizing a Seed Production Field Diagnostics Course that is to be held on 22nd – 27th June, 2015. The training will entail Overview of SEMIs training modules, SEMIS Course introduction, Objectives, Norms and expectations.
Topics on definitions and importance of insect pests, diseases, weeds, and disorders in seed production, Identification and recognition of insect pests and their damage, Identification of problematic weeds of target crops will also be discussed at length.
Hard copy hand outs for the materials are to be issued before presentation of each course. Lecture outlines plus power point presentations are to be sent to SEMIs at least a week before commencement to facilitate development of a course manual.
Coordinators of this course will be Prof. F. Olubayo and Prof. J. Muthomi.
