Baringo County Governor, H.E Chesire Cheboi (Right) giving a handshake to Prof. Mikiugu Mutembei Henry from College of Agriculture, UoN, during the meeting to plan on helping animal owners prepare for coming floods.

County government of Baringo, led by the Governor, H.E Benjamin Chesire Cheboi, is in partnership with World Animal Protection and the University of Nairobi, through CAVS, with a mission to help animal owners in Baringo prepare for the coming El Nino floods.

With predictions for the 2015-2016 El Nino at a 15-year-high, much of Kenya is on high alert for record flooding. Farmers are among the most vulnerable to floods, potentially losing their main source of livelihood to drowning, displacement and disease.

The event will be on 2nd - 4th October, 2015,  in Baringo County.
