Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) has partnered with University of Nairobi in sponsoring foreign post graduate students from D.R. Congo and South Sudan.
Speaking during the inception meeting, Faculty of Agriculture Dean, Prof. Kimenju John, praised the initiative and thanked AGRA for their partnership. He further suggested that mentorship programs for postgraduate foreign students be introduced.
The foreign students, who will be based in Plant Science Department, expressed their delight and termed the move as one that is meant to add value to their intellectual moulding.
The objective of this type of postgraduate sponsorship training is to strengthen capacity building in crop improvement and agronomy for improved food and nutritional security in D.R. Congo and South Sudan.
