The dairy production unit will also be fully equipped with modern storage and milking machinery that will make it possible to produce above 25 liters of milk per cow per day.
Those present in the meeting were, President of the Association for the Italo-Kenyan trade, Mrs. Rita Ricciardi, Dream-Power Technical Director, Mr. Carmelo Ricciardi and Dr. Eng. Alberto Prandi. It was chaired by Clinical Studies Department, Prof. Daniel Waweru Gakuya and facilitated by Dr. Tequiero Abuom and Director University Advancement in the Office of Vice Chancellor, Mr. Johnson Ireri Kinywa.
Speaking during the partnership meeting Mrs. Rita Ricciardi confirmed that the project will be beneficial to the University at large and will further foster good trade and investment relationships between the two nations. She noted that, through such an initiative, the University of Nairobi can be a strong producer of milk products in Kenya apart from being a key market for the produce.
This collaboration is part of Italy’s initiative to work with Kenyan Institutions towards improving the performance of our country and establishing more research, investment and trade opportunities.
