Mrs. Jane Kamau demonstrating the operation of Automated Haematology Analyzer to Prof. Kiama Gitahi, CAVS Principal (Center) and Prof. Gakuya, Department of Clinical Studies Chairman (Left).

College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS) has procured an Automated Haematology Analyzer. The equipment, which was launched by the College Principal-Prof. Kiama, will support small and large animal clinic diagnostics and tremendously boost veterinary medicine research in Kenya. Further, it will offer extensive diagnostics services to the University clientele and thus offering chances for income generation; a move that will promote the mutual coexistence between commitment to scholarly excellence and support from income generating activities.

Commissioning of the Automated Haematology Analyzer puts CAVS at a competitive advantage in offering veterinary related research and academic courses to the students and the nation at large.

In the spirit of offering optimum teaching environment, the Principal promised to work together with the University of Nairobi Enterprises and Services Limited (UNES) so as to initiate purchases of more modern and automated equipment.
