Productivity and Growth in Organic Value Chains (ProGroV) dissemination workshop has officially been launched. The project, whose manager is Prof. Raphael Wahome, investigates and develops potential methods for improving productivity, growth and sustainable development in existing organic value chains in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
As the guest of honor, Prof. Stephen Kiama- CAVS Principal, welcomed the move and termed it as noble. He recognized the projects’ contribution towards developing a better understanding of the values of organic farming.
ProGroV thrives through research that addresses development of agro-ecological methods, governance and management of organic value-chains, and capacity development in participatory and interdisciplinary approaches.
The project partners are Makerere University (Uganda), Sokoine University of Agriculture (Tanzania), Aarhus University (Denmark), University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and International Centre for Research in Organic food Systems (ICROFS-Denmark). Its associated partners are Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN), National Organic Movement of Uganda (NOGAMU) and Tanzania Organic Agriculture Movement (TOAM) Project
