Embu between 29th September 2016 and 2nd October 2016.

Among the livestock to be sold include goats and cattle.

The Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies in collaboration with the Tribes Summit Secretariat successfully holds the Tribes summit 2017. This forum was held at the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Upper Kabete Campus on June 29, 2017. The Summit 2017, “All Kenyan Communities – One People,” aim was to advocate for and promote peaceful coexistence and stimulate responsible actions among the youth towards, during and after the upcoming elections. This will be followed by the ATAT (All Tribes Against Tribalism) – Peace Walk open for all on Saturday July 1, 2017 as part of the summit activities.

Open and Distance learning is one of the innovative program delivery method that enables reaching out to a larger number of clients both locally and globally. The Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies is committed to meeting the market demand for the ODEL program. To fulfill this, the Institute organized for the ODEL writeshop on June 28, 2017 to enable equip and enhance staff members’ required skills and competencies to design and implement academic programs using this mode. The writers’ training was facilitated by ODEL experts from the Kikuyu Campus lead by Dr. J.O. Odumbe.
