Wangari Maathai Institute postgraduate students at TakaTaka Solutions for experiential learning

The Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies continues to exposure its postgraduate students to experiential learning just as Prof. Wangari Maathai hoped, “One aspect of a love of nature that we need to foster is experiential. Nature and in particular, the wild-feeds our spirit and a direct encounter with it is vital in helping us appreciate and care for it. For unless we see it, smell it, or touch it, we tend to forget it, our souls wither,’’ (Maathai, 2010- Replenishing the Earth). On February 10, 2017, TakaTaka Solutions provided yet another ideal platform for the students’ hands on experience on waste management. TakaTaka Solutions is a Nairobi-based waste collection and resource recycling business, whose mission is to provide affordable and environmentally friendly waste management services to all income areas.
