With regard to Peace promotion, this project is aimed at educating the Young People around Nairobi County on Understanding Elections and Civic Responsibilities, the importance of peace and how they can help promote Peace across the Country for a mutual understanding and Economic prosperity of the Country. All participants will earn a YALI Certificate and plant a Peace tree at Wangari Maathai Institutefor. Wangari Maathai Institute’s postgraduate students during the experiential learning at AFEW Kenya

Not only the Rhinos and Elephants are endangered but Giraffes too, especially the Rothschild sub-species. This was clear during the Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies’ postgraduate students’ experiential learning at the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife, Kenya (Giraffe Centre) that was held on Thursday September 29, 2016. It emerged that this was one of the core reasons why the centre was founded in 1979 as a core breeding centre of the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. The centre further escalated its conservation efforts in 1983, opening up an outstanding environmental education centre for the Kenyan youth as it seeks to ensure a Kenyan Population in harmony with nature and living sustainably.
