Sale of LiveStock

The University of Nairobi, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences
will be selling various categories of livestock at Kibwezi Field Station,

Wangari Maathai Institute (WMI) was honoured to host Prof. Peter Mbithi, Vice Chancellor, University of Nairobi during the commisioning of the offices of the distinguished chair (Prof. Kazuhiko Takeuchi), WMI and Education for Sustainable Development in Africa (ESDA) on Friday, June 14, 2019. In the afternoon event held at the WMI Green campus, the Vice Chancellor encouraged the institute to be at the forefront in establishing collaborative links across the globe. He challanged the institute to take advantage of the new facilities in the campus that are of World class standards. Present during the commissioning were Prof. Henry Mutembei, Director, WMI, Prof. Nzioka J. Muthama, Deputy Director, WMI and WMI staff.

The university of Nairobi students, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, participated in the World Enactus Club Competitions. The club, in the University of Nairobi, is based at the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, under the patronage of Dr. Evans Chimoita, Faculty of Agriculture. The event attracts students from all the universities in the country, with aim of competing on ideas and innovations aimed at achieving the SDGs and the big four agenda of the country.

Grinning cheerful youngsters with their lovely pets during the 2019 World Environment Day celebration conducted by Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and environmental Studies , in collaboration with Cooper Kenya, Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Carrefour Kenya, One-Health Club and University of Nairobi. 155 pets mostly brought by animal loving kids were vaccinated against rabies. Rabies is a life threatening zoonotic disease that kills people in African communities every year ( World Health organization (WHO) recommends control of rabies through annual vaccination of dogs and cats.
