Sale of LiveStock

The University of Nairobi, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences
will be selling various categories of livestock at Kibwezi Field Station,
between Monday 22nd May 2019 and Friday 24th May 2019. Among the livestock to be sold include goats and cattle. For more information, contact Mr. Isaac Nyang'au (0721538318)


The Pension education day which is very important was graced by the Vice Chancellor University of Nairobi, some of University of Nairobi Council Members and the other Pension Scheme Trustees. The VC Emphasized on the importance of saving for retirement.

The Pension education session held was spearheaded by Roselyne Musera from Gen Africa. The members had a very interactive session with the Pension scheme Board of Trustees.

Wangari Maathai Institute held a planning committee meeting for the upcoming Utu Conference on Community Engaged Scholarship and Advocacy. The conference which is scheduled for June 20, 2019 at the Wangari Maathai Institute Green Campus has been organized in partnership with James Madison University and is expected to attract a wide range of participants, both local and international.

Dr. Oscar Koech from the University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology (LARMAT) participated in  a 4 day technical write-shop on Rangeland and Pastoralism Strategy with an objective of incorporating and editing of the stake holder inputs from the Isiolo workshop in order to develop draft one of the document. The workshop was supported by the Directorate of Livestock Production in conjunction with Regional Pastoral Livelihoods Resilience Project (RPLRP).

Okenge Mixed Secondary School from Nyatike Consituency Migori County visited department on education purposes. Their area of intererests were on Animal Nutrition, Rabbitry and Poultry Keeping.In company of their 4 teachers and about 98 students who were form 3 and 4 left the department full of knowledge.
